Could someone please explain to me the credentials of Ms. Palin....I wonder if McCain's irresponsible choice has more to do with Alaskan "energy" than anything else ....there were certainly more experienced women to pick for the role of VP.

So far evidence shows that "bridge to no where" and other governmental pork reform was not championed by Ms. Palin as she took credit for in her nomination speech. see the whole article here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/09/01/palin-received-millions-i_n_123004.html "The use of the earmark system that -- as a vice presidential candidate -- Palin now criticizes continued into her tenure as governor. As the Los Angeles Times reported, the state of Alaska requested 31 earmarks worth $197.8 million for next year's federal budget. And according to Citizens Against Government Waste, Alaska received $379,669,715 in pork during fiscal year 2008, nearly $100 million more than any other state."

So far her family values lie in question,,,a pregnant unwed 17-yo daughter., see the whole article here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/09/02/mccain-fought-teen-pregna_n_123132.html "WASHINGTON — Republican John McCain, whose running mate disclosed that her unmarried 17-year-old daughter is pregnant, has opposed proposals to spend federal money on teen-pregnancy prevention programs and voted to require poor teen mothers to stay in school or lose their benefits.
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's announcement Monday about her daughter Bristol was aimed at rebutting Internet rumors that Palin's youngest son, born in April, was actually her daughter's. Palin said her daughter intends to raise her child and marry the baby's father, identified in news reports as Levi Johnston, 18, of Wasilla, a high school hockey player whom Bristol has dated for about one year. The baby is due in late December.
McCain's record on issues surrounding teen pregnancy and contraceptives during his more than two decades in the Senate indicates that he and Palin have similar views. Until Monday, when the subject surfaced in a deeply personal manner, teen pregnancy and sex education were not issues in the national political campaign.Palin herself said she opposes funding sexual-education programs in Alaska.
"The explicit sex-ed programs will not find my support," she wrote in a 2006 questionnaire distributed among gubernatorial candidates."
Ms. Palin is sure the "Kids" will work it out,,,even though the baby's daddy is quoted as saying this: "I don't want kids."

So far we have learned that Ms. Palin is not only unsupportive of women's issues, she publicly allows men to disgrace women on national radio. Hear the interview: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/08/31/palin-laughs-as-opponent_n_122776.html
"Then Lester clearly sets the stage for what he is about to say by warning his large audience and Palin. He says, "Governor you can't say this but I will, Lyda Green is a cancer and a b----." Palin laughs for the second time."
so far she is being accused of using her power as governor to fire people who "diss" her sisters, and others whom she considered "disloyal" ( i was unaware of this pre-requisite) " see the article here:
http://www.washingtonindependent.com/3767/palin-involved-in-ousting-scandals-from-the-start
"Mayor Sarah Palin sent the resignation requests Thursday to Police Chief Irl Stambaugh, public works director Jack Felton, finance director Duane Dvorak and Mary Ellen Emmons, the head of libraries. A fifth director — John Cooper, who oversaw the city museum — resigned earlier this month after Palin eliminated his position. Cooper initially resisted resigning, but to no avail. Palin also later fired the police chief, saying she knew in her “heart” that he did not support her. She left the head of libraries a letter saying she was out — though Palin later decided to spare the librarian after being convinced that she would tow the line.
The whole saga is unusual — considering Palin prides herself on being independent and seems to enjoy butting heads with her own party. But, this sounds like she requires fierce loyalty of those who work for her."

see the article here: http://www.washingtonindependent.com/3671/the-reform-candidate
"The latest scandal has been percolating on national blogs for weeks and made the front-page of The Washington Post on Sunday. Palin stands accused of having fired Alaska’s public-safety commissioner because he would not dismiss her sister’s ex-husband, a state trooper, who the Palins have been feuding with since before she became governor. Though a full report from an independent investigator is due this fall, emails from Palin and a tape recording reveal that the governor at least pressured the commissioner to fire her ex-brother-in-law, after she previously denied having done so."

so far her credentials for running the country should some unfortunate event take Senator McCain away from presidential duties are: she is great on a snowmobile, can shoot a gun, prides herself on being a hockey mom, although she left her newborn special needs infant 3 weeks after delivery, and has a beauty queen portfolio....Super.

So far Ms. Palin and Senator McCaine look ridiculous...no matter how you spin it.
